This is the second book in the series and can be read as a stand alone but honestly I would grab Satisfaction Guaranteed as well, it was just as good. This is Jason Reynolds and Truly Goodman and Instant Gratification is a friends to lovers story that ticked the boxes for me. Jason is Malone’s best friend and Truly is Malone’s sister so these two have met frequently and at one point had a wild night of passion. It was great to see Malone and his fiance Sloan making an appearance in the book as well, it is one of the things I enjoy about Ms.Blakely’s stories, old friends are always popping in to make an appearance which really adds to the enjoyment. There is so much to like about all the characters characters Ms.Blakely writes about and I would be happy to have them as my friends. Truly is a successful business woman who owns her own restaurant and bar and is independent and focused, whilst Jason has a unique job as a Best Man For Hire along with doing his podcast’s and is just as successful. The relationship that they both have with Malone is heartwarming and adds an additional layer to the book. The banter between Truly and Jason had me in stitches at time, it is obvious that their relationship is founded first and foremost on a strong friendship that morphs in to so much more. The camaraderie between all the friends and their support of one another is just as amazing. Did I mention the chemistry between Truly and Jason? No? There is so much to like about all the characters characters Ms.Blakely writes about and I would be happy to have them as my friends. Truly is a successful business woman who owns her own restaurant and bar and is independent and focused, whilst Jason has a unique job as a Best Man For Hire along with doing his podcast’s and is just as successful. The relationship that they both have with Malone is heartwarming and adds an additional layer to the book. The banter between Truly and Jason had me in stitches at time, it is obvious that their relationship is founded first and foremost on a strong friendship that morphs in to so much more. The camaraderie between all the friends and their support of one another is just as amazing. Did I mention the chemistry between Truly and Jason? No? Well it is electrifying and there were times that I could feel it sizzling around them. Instant Gratification will make you laugh, it will make you smile and at times may frustrate you but most of all it will entertain you.

Great Banter

Instant Gratification brings about the story of Jason and Truly. He is a dapper English gentleman who is living in Manhattan giving help to the masses on manners and men’s advice, she is the owner of a Gin Joint. They have many things in common especially being workaholics. Jason’s best friend Malone happens to be Truly’s twin brother, the main reason they feel they can not be together. Truly doesn’t want a repercussion of when Malone dated her best friend and it ended badly. So because of this we get a slow burn feel to this book and a lot of sexual tension! And it wouldn’t be a Lauren Blakely book if there wasn’t plenty of banter as well. I quite enjoyed this book, it took me a little while to connect with the characters and their dilemma but I got there before half way. Then I was hooked to see how this couple would end up and I wasn’t disappointed. I also love how we get little cameos from characters in previous books. It feels like you’re revisiting great friends. Jason really was delightful and caring on all aspects of his life but the affection he had for Truly was endearing. She was instantly enamored with his accent but also his charisma and work ethics. I do love an epilogue so I was extremely satisfied with the conclusion. I also appreciated the little snippet of what’s in the next book.
